CAN YOU REALLY AFFORD TO JUST "DO NOTHING?"
No matter whether you have a small...medium… or large business, you can no longer be a “spectator” to escalating employee health and safety related expenses. In 2004, health care spending in the United States reached $1.9 trillion, and was projected to reach $2.9 trillion in 2009. This amounted to 16 percent of the U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) in 2004 and it is projected that this percentage could reach 20 percent of GDP in the next decade. Furthermore, healthcare insurance premiums for employer sponsored plans have increased three, four, or even five times the rate of inflation in the last several years. As a result, employers must pass on more and more of the cost to their employees. Most employers just hope these expenses go away, but hope is no strategy. To curb expense…curb usage! Be Proactive…Help yourself and your employees!
THE OCCUPATIONAL ATHLETE SYSTEM WILL HELP YOU...
- Reduce accident frequency and severity
- Reduce worker compensation claims
- Reduce utilization of health care benefits
- Prevent soft tissue injuries
- Reduce lost workdays due to sickness
- Reduce employee turnover
- Increase employee morale
- Improve employee/supervisor relations
- Make your employees feel valued
WE ARE ALL ATHLETES IN LIFE
THE OCCUPATIONAL ATHLETE SYSTEM will give your employees a Gameplan to initiate and complete lifestyle changes. They will become “Occupational Athletes.” Just as professionals athletes must develop skills in order to “play” at their best, so do your employees. The Occupational Athlete System provides your employees with twelve Games, each patterned after a lifestyle factor important to both professional athletes and to each of them, and a Safety Factor to gain safety awareness and know-how. After completing one Game, they move on to another. Their skills at playing the Games become stronger and the quality of their lives improves.
LET THE GAMES BEGIN... Every workday, for one year, employees (players) receive one lifestyle and one safety factor along with short goals to accomplish. Each factor is also accompanied by a “mo(tip)vator,” a catchy phrase to help them remember the daily tips and increase their interest in the topics. These daily tips and “mo(tip)vators” are concise, easy to understand, and entertaining to read – day-by-day, step-by-step, and goal-by-goal. As your employees score their daily Gameday goals, they become winners in the Game of Life.
THE 12 LIFESTYLE FACTORS…Nutrition, Physical Exercise, Mental Fitness, Stress Reduction, Attitude and Happiness, Sleep, Substance Abuse, Time Management, Motivation, Disease Prevention, Weight/Obesity, and Communicating Effectively.
