Why a Functional Fit For Duty Program?

Modern science has shaped athletes to become more efficient at their sport while helping to prevent injury, so why not apply it to employees on the job? A Physical Demands Analysis allows a trained health expert to see first hand the specific environmental and physical challenges of any occupational task. Therefore, just as an athlete trains specific to the demands of his or her sport, the physical therapist/athletic trainer can develop a Functional Fit for Duty Program (a training program specific to a person’s profession). The goal is that the employee can complete his or her job more effectively, while lessening the chance for injury, and time lost from work.
